The National and City Library of Augsburg holds a very special treasure: For the history of music, the voluminous manuscript 2 Cod.142a is a gem of the first rank. It was written by several writers from the circles of Augsburg citizens in the years between approximately 1505 and 1518. With this CD, we are presenting a world first recording of compositions from the "Augsburger Liederbuch". It reflects the broadness of the repertoire and the abundance of musical life at Augsburg`s "Golden Age".
