Astor Piazzolla's evocative tango in milonga lenta rhythm gives the program its title. Oblivión -  this concert evening is dedicated to forgetting in all its facets. Seeking to forget (un)loved truths in ecstatic intoxication  or striving for the  ideal state of self-forgetfulness in meditation or in the practice of an art or any activity - the spectrum of forgetting is broad and extends to the longing for death, to complete annihilation, which is celebrated in Piazzolla's Balada para mi muerte with the words of his enigmatic lyricist Horacio Ferrer. Astor Piazzolla, a headstrong musical genius who revolutionized tango against all opposition from his contemporaries to create tango nuevo, will be in the spotlight with his gripping, existential, and passionate music. However, traditional tangos from the so-called Golden Age of Argentine tango will also be performed.

MÁS QUE TANGO, the ensemble led by Augsburg musicians Iris Lichtinger (piano) and Martin Franke (violin), has once again invited two exciting, top-class musical partners to join them: Sebastián Arranz from Berlin, a young singer and actor born in Buenos Aires who grew up with tango in his grandparents' house, and Christian Gerber from Hamburg, one of the most sought-after bandoneonists internationally, tour partner of classical star Isabelle von Keulen, head of the “Quinteto Ángel” and winner of the German Record Critics' Award with “Tangocrash.” winner of the German Record Critics' Award.
